Banned Books Week Rebel Reader

Words Have Power. Now is not the time to be silent about censorship. The library is participating in the American Library Association Rebel Reader Tournament on Twitter and we decided to go one step farther and do it on Facebook as well. Happy Reading!!
How to enter the drawing:
Post on the Bangor Public Library Facebook wall any of the following action items using the hashtag #RebelReader during Banned Books Week (September 24-30) for a chance to win an array of literary prizes. We’ll be giving prizes from local businesses each day.
List of 7 tasks for Tournament (can be done in any order):
-Take a selfie with a banned or challeged book
-Share a video of yourself talking about censorship or reading from a banned or challendged book
-Post a quote from a favorite banned or challenged book
-Share a story about an edcuator who helped you learn the power of words
-Take a photo of a completed ALA Banned Books Week coloring sheet
-Take a photo of yourself with any Words have Power swag (bookmarks and stickers available at the library!)
-Share a link to your local library’s homepage or book selection policy
Local businesses donating prizes include: Willie Wags, The Briar Patch, Hero’s Sports Grill & Entertainment Center, Valentine Footwear, Penobscot Theatre Company, Bangor Symphony Orchestra, The Rock & Art Shop.
